About Akira
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Akira, a striking black cat with mesmerizing eyes and a heart overflowing with sweetness. Her Japanese name, meaning bright, clear, wisdom, or truth, is a lovely nod to the positivity and good luck black cats are believed to bring in many cultures around the world. Though Akira didn't come from overseas, she found her way to Tabby's Place through the Guardian Angel program after her beloved human passed away. Despite the comfort of a caring rescue, Akira still feels the ache of missing her very own special person and the comfort of a quiet home. What she would cherish most is finding a kind companion to share cozy couch time with, where her gentle purrs can fill the air. Akira may be a little shy when meeting new friends, but she’s never anything but gentle. She gets along well with other cats and would do well as an only pet or with easygoing feline companions, as long as she is spoiled with plenty of chin and butt scratches—her irresistible favorites! Akira does have some food allergies and will need to maintain a special hypoallergenic diet to stay healthy, but she is otherwise a loving girl waiting for her forever home. Ready to fall in love?
