5-26-26 Mark this date on your calendar What makes this so important? It's the date that Heather will have been with the Sanctuary for 4 years. She was part of a hoarding situation. She wasn't sure about people. That is, until this year. Though Heather did not like us, we all loved her. And maybe she loved us too, in a different way. And then, we did the unthinkable. We put her in a carrier and took her to the vet. They stated that she needed to have all of her teeth removed. And while this was traumatic for her, it was also a very good thing for her. After going back into Mandy's room post dental - Heather began to change. For the first time in over three years - she let a volunteer pet her! And then belly rubs! While she won't approach you first, and you have to approach her slowly. She will let her guard down. And we here, know that she is not done evolving. She will grow more into a human attention seeking kitty. She may not be there yet, but we know she will get there in time. She loves other cats. She loves to eat. She loves watching the birds. Heather is 5 years old. She is spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped.
