Meet #Alberto Medical Foster Needed for Alberto We want to be very honest about Alberto — because the right home for him will be someone who understands that love doesn’t always look like cuddles. Alberto was surrendered after a frightening incident where he fell off a bed and began having trouble walking. Shortly after, he showed balance and neurological issues. We don’t fully know what caused this — it’s possible he was bitten by a bug or experienced some kind of neurological event — and unfortunately, we still don’t know the full extent of what’s going on with him. Medication has helped him somewhat, and we’ve seen improvement, which gives us hope. But what breaks our hearts is seeing him spend his days confined to a kennel when he truly needs a calm, stable environment. Shelter life is hard on any dog — especially one like Alberto. It’s important to know: Alberto is not going to be a super affectionate dog He is not a dog who wants to be pet or cuddled at least not right now . We can get him out and walk him and he does fine He will need someone who can respect his space and show love through patience, routine, and understanding A quiet home where he can be the only pet would be best He needs someone responsible enough to help manage his care and observe his needs as we continue learning about his condition Alberto doesn’t need perfection — he needs a safe place, a steady presence, and someone willing to help him navigate life while we figure out what his future looks like.
