About Peanut

Peanut is a laidback, affectionate pit bull terrier in Dallas, TX, hoping to find a home where she can soak up plenty of love and attention. She thrives on human connection and enjoys nothing more than snuggling beside her people, riding in the car, going for walks, or just relaxing in the sun. Peanut is fantastic with cats and small dogs, and with a little patience, can befriend larger dogs too. Watching the school bus arrive each day is a highlight for her—she adores greeting children and soaking up their affection. Soft plush toys serve as her favorite pillow and she loves sturdy chew toys for entertainment. Currently, Peanut is working toward a healthier weight and is looking for a family to help guide her back to her ideal shape. She’s friendly yet loyal and can be protective over those she bonds with, but she warms up quickly once she feels at ease. Although she lives with hip dysplasia and an old ligament injury, they’re well-managed with medication and don't dampen her spirit. Fireworks and storms make her uneasy, so she does best with someone to comfort her during loud events. Crate trained, leash trained, and solid on basic commands, Peanut does occasionally get overexcited in big crowds, but with consistency and patience she continues to improve. If you want a loving companion who truly gives back everything she receives, Peanut is worth a meeting. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
