He loves hugs and affection (when it’s his idea), sunbathing, walks, outdoor activities, treats, naps, squeaky toys, playing with kids (ages 1 and up), and all sorts of fun snacks. Everest also enjoys dog ice cream, music, and any playful interaction. However, he doesn't like having his nose touched or being petted directly on his head. He needs a special diet consisting of Salmon/Sweet Potato or similar food for sensitive stomachs and does better with grain-inclusive diets. Everest knows sit, wait, come, lay down, and shake, and is crate trained. Given his high energy, he needs regular exercise and mental stimulation—he adores walks and tends to relax after activity but can pull on the leash, especially around other dogs. He’s very smart and curious, which means he can get into trouble when bored, such as chewing on objects, jumping up, eating plants or soil, and even opening screen doors! Everest has shown no aggression and any nipping is puppy-like and related to overstimulation; continued training and boundaries would benefit him. He handles boarding and grooming well but gets sick on long car rides. His ideal home is an active one that understands high-energy breeds and is committed to ongoing training, structure, and indoor companionship.
