About Elbie

Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Elbie is a fun-sized, 14 lb bundle of mischief and love who is believed to be a Pekingese/Dachshund mix—though truly, he's just 100% Elbie. He thrives on human connection and has never met a stranger he didn’t adore. Elbie gets along wonderfully with playful dogs his size and larger, but prefers homes without cats or small, quick-moving animals as he has a strong chasing instinct. Playtime, treats, toys, and belly rubs are the ways to his heart, and his adorable upside-down naps are guaranteed to make you smile. Elbie has solid house manners and continues to improve on leash, but he’s a bit of a door dasher, so watch those exits as you work together on "wait." He does better when crated if left alone, though when you're home he wants to be with you. Clear expectations and a routine are the secret to helping him thrive, as he’s quick to test boundaries and needs consistent leadership. Elbie would excel in a home with other playful dogs his size and/or older, respectful kids, ideally with people who are home often or committed to maintaining his structure. If you’re searching for a pup who brings laughter, keeps life exciting, and then cuddles up when the hustle is done, Elbie might be your perfect addition. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
