About Shadow

Shadow has quickly become a favorite at the shelter since his arrival as a stray. No one knows his history, but his personality is pretty clear: he’s a calm, laid-back dog who enjoys taking his time to explore, nose to the ground, sniffing out any interesting scent. Those hound instincts seem to take over when he’s out and about. Shadow isn’t the easiest to photograph, usually catching the camera with the top of his head buried in the grass, but in person, he’s all personality. There’s an affectionate side too—he’s quick with kisses and will nuzzle in close to the people he trusts. He sometimes expresses his love a bit enthusiastically and might get a little mouthy when excited. This isn’t aggression, just his way of showing affection, but for this reason, he does better in homes with adults or teenagers rather than young children. Shadow weighs about 45 pounds and has a short black coat that’s easy to care for. He’s been neutered, is up to date on vaccinations, and is house trained. He also gets along great with other dogs and is comfortable around kids who understand his playful, mouthy style. Click apply to start the adoption process.
