About Diesel

Diesel is a survivor with a story. He’s a resilient 5-year-old pit mix who’s handled more setbacks than most, including being hit by a car and overcoming partial paralysis in his back legs. After multiple surgeries and a lot of rehab, he’s now off medication and comfortable living indoors. Diesel uses a custom wheelchair mostly for longer adventures, but he’s getting stronger and often goes short distances on his own. He’s currently living in a home with a young child and other dogs—and does well in that setting. Cats can be tested if needed. He’s house trained, up to date on vaccines, and neutered. Diesel adores car rides and staying close to his person, but can get mouthy with excitement, giving “love bites” when he’s happy, so adults should sit with him on the floor for affection. He smiles constantly, and his joy is infectious. Diesel’s tail has been partially amputated due to old injury, but it doesn’t stop him from enjoying life. His medical journey is documented and the rescue offers full transparency about his past and continued needs. Whoever adopts Diesel will need to keep his wheelchair handy for long walks or play sessions, and be mindful about him jumping up to avoid further injury.
