About Drover
Meet Drover! He’s a playful, happy, and loving young dog who wants to be everyone’s friend. Drover is a 9-month-old medium-sized Labrador Retriever/Terrier mix, sporting a short apricot and white coat. He was rescued from the streets of San Antonio and still has a lot to learn about the world, but he tackles every new experience with wagging-tail enthusiasm. He’s shown real resilience and spirit, especially after suffering a hip injury before rescue. The vet suspects it was caused by blunt force, possibly from being thrown or kicked. While Drover currently enjoys life like any normal puppy and isn’t in pain, he’ll need hip surgery, called an FHO, once he turns a year old. The rescue will cover this procedure, so his future adopter won’t be left alone in his care. If the surgery isn’t done, he could develop early arthritis, but for now, you’d never know – Drover’s still all joy. He’s house trained, vaccinated, neutered, and gets along with dogs, cats, and children. Drover is ready for a family who won’t let him grow up behind shelter walls. What are you waiting for?
