Mama Crockpot is a gentle, sweet-natured young dog who has already overcome a lot in her short life. Estimated to be around one to two years old, she came to us after giving birth on a stranger’s porch during freezing temperatures. When she first arrived she was understandably scared of people, but with time and patience from her foster mom she has begun to learn that humans can be kind. These days she happily climbs into her foster’s lap and forgets that she weighs about 65 pounds. Crockpot is a playful, silly girl with a very loving heart. She is still a bit cautious when meeting new people, but every day she grows more confident and curious about the world around her. It is likely that she did not have the best experiences with humans before rescue, so she will benefit from some basic obedience training and a family willing to continue building her confidence. With a little patience and consistency, she has all the makings of an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. Crockpot would do best in a calm, patient home with someone who can give her time to settle in and continue showing her that she is safe and loved. Currently in a foster home in Chattanooga, TN, and available for transport to a number of locations within the continental United States.
