Your new best friend is just one click away. Mushroom is a whimsical little Domestic Medium Hair cat with a medium coat highlighted by unique spots, stripes, and show-stopping, extravagant ear tufts. Imagine a forest sprite come to life, now adapting to the comforts of indoor living. She may start out shy in new places, but once Mushroom feels safe, her affectionate side shines. She’s the purr-fect companion, gentle and loving, delivering delicate licks and seeking chin and head scratches. This playful girl delights in toys—whether batting them around on her own or sharing playtime with her human friends. Mushroom gets along very well with other cats and has displayed friendliness by head-butting her feline roommates and trying to make friends. Though she may be timid at first, she will thrive in a calm to moderately active home, ideally with adopters who have some experience with cats and perhaps a cat or two already in the home. She’s also fine around gentle dogs and respectful children, making her adaptable to a variety of loving homes. Notably, Mushroom is an incredible mama who’s raised her kittens outdoors, and with her babies grown, she’s ready for her own loving family. She does have a sensitive stomach and should remain on her current hydrolyzed diet (Hills ZD), but this is her only special need. All cats in the Yolo County SPCA program are spayed or neutered before adoption and are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and negative for Feline Leukemia.
