About Axel
Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Axel, a striking and dignified 5-year-old Doberman Pinscher with a bicolor coat and a gentle, loyal heart. Weighing in at 68lbs, Axel is ready for his next adventure with a family willing to give him lots of love and attention. He prefers a home without toddlers, but he's very accustomed to living with a cat and can get along with other dogs who appreciate his curious, "nosey" personality. Axel is both crate trained and trustworthy when given free reign in the house. He knows all his basic commands and will add a dose of charm by carrying around a dirty sock—never chewing it, just enjoying having it with him! Axel is affectionate and loves cuddling, always eager to greet you at the door. If you’re ready to make Axel a part of your family, be sure to arrange a meeting in advance, as he is currently not at the shelter. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Axel
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Doberman Pinschers thrive in homes where they are part of the family and have plenty of human interaction. They do well in houses with secure yards or in environments where they get lots of physical and mental stimulation.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Doberman Pinschers benefit from access to a medium to large yard where they can run and play safely. They need regular walks and exercise but can adapt to a more urban setting with consistent activity.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Dobermans can be excellent with children when socialized early and supervised, particularly in homes with respectful older kids. They may not be the best choice for homes with toddlers due to their energy and size.
