Meet Emma! Emma was dumped in the country heavily pregnant, super starved, and almost got ran over a few times. She ended up having 7 puppies in total, which all but Spud are pending adoption. Despite her background, Emma is the sweetest gal. She is on the smaller side, weighing about 35-40lbs. She is a lovely lady to have around, is housetrained, crate trained, loves car rides, pup cups, chicken strips, and is a HUGE fan of fetch. Emma was a great mother but is ready to go into her forever home. She is heartworm positive, meaning she will undergo treatment. This treatment consists of receiving doxycycline once and then receives a topical liquid (which is put on her back) once a month for a year. This DOES NOT hinder her ability to live a happy life. She is still very adoptable and lovable. PPAWS will also provide these treatments to Emma's adopter, so it would be of no cost to you. So far, this lovely lady has been around horses, dogs, cats, kids, and other farm animals. She has not had any issues whatsoever.
