Ozzy Pawsborne is a deeply affectionate, loyal boy who just wants to be close to his person. At nearly 6 years old, he has found himself at Paws, and the shelter environment is taking a toll on him. Ozzy is beginning to decline mentally here. The constant noise, stress, and overstimulation are overwhelming for him, and it's starting to show in his behavior. In a calm setting, Ozzy is incredibly sweet. He loves being petted, will happily curl up beside you, and forms a strong bond with his person. He thrives on quiet companionship, routine, and feeling safe. He can be a little timid at first, but once he trusts you, he becomes a devoted and loving companion. Right now, Ozzy is at risk because the shelter environment is too much for him. The overstimulation is leading to mouthy behaviors when he feels stressed or unsure, which is not who he truly is in a stable home. He needs a place where he can decompress, feel secure, and return to his normal, gentle self. Ozzy is also working through ongoing skin allergies and is on a strict prescription diet. He cannot have any other food or treats, as consistency is critical to his healing. Paws will provide his food and medical support. He just needs a foster home willing to give him a calm space and stick to his routine. He has done well with other dogs and can coexist peacefully, though he is not especially playful. Because he can become mouthy when overstimulated, a home without small children is recommended. Ozzy does not need much. A quiet home, a patient person, and a chance to reset outside of the shelter. Paws will support you with everything else. He is struggling here, but with the right environment, we know Ozzy can feel like himself again.
