About Almondie
Almondie is a 7-year-old, 51-pound pit bull terrier mix with a constantly wagging tail and a big appetite for adventure. Since arriving at the shelter with an injured eye and severely irritated skin, she’s bounced back with notable energy and joy, thanks to attentive foster care. Her removed eye and improved skin haven’t slowed her down—she’s still up for hikes, car rides, and long walks. Almondie is house-trained and content to relax on her own when you’re working, but as soon as you walk in the door she’s ready for pets, hugs, and lots of lap time. Food is a strong motivator; she’s eager to learn and easily shows off her tricks like sit, stay, shake, down, spin, and touch. Walking on leash comes naturally, though she appreciates having space from other dogs. Almondie could thrive best as a solo dog but may do well with a carefully selected canine companion. She’s affectionate, clever, and always ready for the next outing. Almondie doesn’t get along with cats but is happy around other dogs and children. Ready to fall in love?
