Arik is a 4-year-old, 1-month-old male Domestic Short Hair in Port Washington, NY. He’s considered small and is FIV+. Arik is mild-mannered and has always been most comfortable in the company of other cats rather than alone. He's looking for a home where his special bond with Resilience can continue to grow.

About Arik

Arik must be adopted with Resilience, #E3452. Their bond has blossomed over the last year after both came from tough beginnings at Happy Cat Sanctuary. Arik, easygoing and FIV+, always sought comfort in feline companionship. After one by one his shelter friends found new homes, he found a surprising connection with Resilience—a cat once scared of everyone and everything, even other cats. That changed when Resilience moved into Arik’s space. Now she greets him with head dips, follows him around, and lets down her guard, even if she’s still wary of people. Arik’s gentle confidence has brought out a softer, braver side in his companion. Watching these two rely on and learn from each other has been a highlight for those at the shelter. They’ll do best with a patient, experienced adopter and a calm home, ideally with older kids. Watching their unique friendship in a real home will be its own reward. Start your journey together!
