Vero is a sweet, high-energy English Shepherd mix who lights up at the mention of belly rubs. She loves being outside and has a strong preference for open yard time; on nice days, it can be a challenge to coax her back indoors. Chasing squirrels is one of her favorite pastimes, and she'll bark at them with enthusiasm, but otherwise, she keeps pretty quiet. Vero tends to be independent and prefers personal space, though she does just fine with both people and other dogs. Currently, she shares a home with three older large dogs, mostly ignoring them, and sees the house cats from afar—likely she’d give enthusiastic chase if given the chance. Vero is polite at mealtimes and is crate-fed, patiently waiting to be let out, but sleeps on a blanket or the couch overnight. Leash walking is a work in progress for her; she’s the type to get excited and pull around. She’s only been in her foster home for a week and is just beginning to relax and sit with people during downtime. Vero needs time to decompress in a new setting.
