They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Henry is a sweet Great Pyrenees mix puppy who is eager to find his forever home. Anyone who meets him is quick to note his handsome looks and winsome personality. Even though he hasn’t met children while in foster care, he’s shown himself to be outgoing and friendly when greeting new people, such as dinner guests and neighbors. Henry is a happy, curious pup who loves being around people, discovering new things, and playing with toys and other dogs. After a good round of play and running off his puppy energy, he’s always ready for snuggles and affection. Henry currently lives with a 9-year-old terrier and enjoys chasing and wrestling with his canine companion, but may benefit from a more active dog friend. He knows his name and the sit command, and is making steady progress with potty training, coming when called, and learning the “drop” cue. They have started working on “leave it” as well. Henry kennels well—though he may whine at first, he tends to settle down, and typically sleeps in his kennel in a foster’s bedroom, sometimes needing a nighttime potty break depending on his evening routine. He still dislikes being left completely alone and can protest, but is otherwise adjusting to his routine. Leash walking is a work in progress, as Henry sometimes thinks of the leash as a toy for tug-of-war, but he’s learning quickly. He’s not fond of car rides yet, tending to get nervous, so making sure he’s had outside time before a trip helps. He also lives with a senior cat and tries to wrestle with him; any future cat interactions should be supervised until he learns to respect feline boundaries. Henry is ready for a loving family who can offer him continued training, cozy snuggles, and hopefully a fenced yard to explore. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
