Shaggy is a German Shepherd mix who’s spent some time roaming, so now he really needs a safe, secure yard and someone ready to give him plenty of direction and attention. His crate manners are solid and he even handled a free ride to the groomer without fuss. Don’t bother testing him with cats—he won’t tolerate them. Shaggy plays hard with other dogs and thrives with a handler who’s consistent and confident. He’s extremely smart (watch those latches—he’ll open them with his nose) and picks up leash cues quickly, though recall is a work in progress. Out on excursions, Shaggy’s social: polite with people, not reactive to other dogs, and affectionate without being over the top, saving his bear hugs and gentle kisses for those he trusts. Marking territory still tempts him, but improvements show with guidance. Shaggy gets attached fast and wants to be a key member of the family.
