About Amber
Amber has spent too long waiting for her own place to land. She came to the shelter with her brother Buster, both carrying the scars of neglect and life as fighting dogs. Underweight and wary when first rescued, Amber took her time finding trust again, but she's shown an unbreakable spirit through it all. With each day, her bright and bubbly personality breaks through a little more—these days, she's a true favorite at the shelter. Her safe spot is her kennel, but outside it, she's coming alive. Amber walks politely on leash, knows "sit," and has surprised everyone by thriving in training, giving her future adopters a strong foundation to build on. She's become a real water dog, loving every splash, and can't resist chasing her orange ball around or exploring woodland trails. While her past runs deep, Amber refuses to let it define her. She has done best playing solo or with select dogs, so she will need to be your only pet and prefers an adult-only home that respects her boundaries and is committed to helping her keep growing. She’s ready for a patient, understanding family to give her the forever home she’s been waiting for. Click apply to start the adoption process.
