Say hello to Casper, a 3-year-old cream-colored Samoyed mix with a cloud-like coat and a lovable personality to match! He smiles all the time and is happy and friendly forever! Rescued and brought into the shelter, Casper has adjusted well and is now looking for a forever family who understands the needs of a large, fluffy pup. He’s full-grown and full of charm — especially when he's showing off his affectionate, goofy side. Casper does really well with people and kids. He is full of love. He’s typically calm or indifferent around others, though he may get sensitive with overly dominant or pushy dogs, only around food. While he doesn’t guard food from humans, he may grumble if another dog gets too close during mealtime. He hasn’t met any cats yet, so slow introductions would be needed if there’s a feline in the home. Casper is house-trained (he prefers to go during walks) and walks okay on a leash — though he still pulls but good listener. Despite his size, he’s not a barker and doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety. He’s affectionate, fluffy, and full of potential for the right home — especially one without dog allergies and with a love for large breeds. -he has BVS so would do best in a home with a more set routine, especially for feeding times so he doesn't throw up in the morning. -He has food aggression around other dogs is much better. If coming into a home with other dogs just slow intro, we had them eat next to each other but separated by our gate for two weeks before moving to same room and had great success. -slight separation anxiety, if in a room with closed door he digs at the carpet/door, however with free roam of home and a chew stick he settles very quickly. -generally a bit anxious and fearful so needs patience. We've been working on his comfort walking by busses and he's improving. -REALLY needs continued work for grooming comfort, he does not love being brushed by either of us unless we set up a lick mat and one person stays be his head while the other brushes.
