About Ben
Ben is a 6-pound Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a wiry coat and a big, complicated personality. Heās both timid and snuggly with his people, but when challenged by other dogs, he turns feisty and stubborn. Ben loves the outdoorsāexploring and barking fill his day, yet he checks in often just to make sure he has your reassurance. Heās independent and a little insecure at the same time. When first entering foster care with his brother, Ben wouldnāt settleāthey just didnāt get along. Turns out, Ben is no passive bystander; he can stir up his own mischief, especially if faced with a toy-hoarding housemate or a dog that throws down a challenge. Even though heās got this spirited side, Ben genuinely enjoys the company of playful, easy-going dogs and thrives in an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy kids. He needs a securely fenced yard he can zoom around in. Ben sleeps wherever he finds comfortableāhis bed, a couch, or snuggled beside his person. Heās lively, talkative, alert, and responds well to his name. While heās reliably house trained during the day, he sometimes leaves little overnight surprises. Leash walking isnāt his thing yet, and new thresholds (like doorways) sometimes trip him up, but Ben is quick to learn when shown patience. He hasnāt been tested with cats or larger dogs. For someone willing to engage with his quirks and nurture his busy energy, Ben will make a spirited, entertaining companion. Ben is a Scorpio, which may explain his intense, complex charm.
