Alma is a super senior who came off the streets of Venice in January 2026 with complications from untreated diabetes. While recovering in foster care, she has quickly acclimated to the comforts of indoor life. She enjoys snoozing on soft surfaces and comes out for copious belly and chin rubs & lots of nose kisses. Alma is social with cats as well as humans; she likes to snuggle near her cat foster brothers. She does well living with younger, energetic cats, and even enjoys her own style of play, batting a ribbon. Alma is also a veteran insect hunter and has been known to capture the occasional spider. Her affectionate nature comes with a rumbling, vocal purr loud enough to hear from another room! (It sounds like "rooooo, rooooo") She likes being a little spoon, and will greet you in the morning with pre-breakfast bed snuggles. Alma's care includes twice-daily insulin injections to maintain stable glucose levels. She associates insulin with feeling well, and comes out willingly after morning and evening meals to receive "pokies". Potential adopters will be oriented to the specifics of her care, but with such a sweet, docile patient, the process is beginner-friendly.
