About Cookie

Cookie is a sweet and playful girl that was going through training to be a service dog but unfroteuntly had to drop out due to being heartworm positive. She is currently going through treatment that is funded by Kerrville pets alive. She has never met a stranger, adores kids and other dogs! WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. Cookie IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN KERRVILLE, TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. About Basenji Dogs

Basenjis are unique, elegant dogs known as the "barkless dog" because they produce a distinctive yodel-like sound instead of a typical bark. Originating in Central Africa, they are one of the oldest dog breeds. Their short coat, curled tail, and wrinkled forehead give them a distinctive look.

Adopting a Basenji means welcoming a cat-like, independent dog into your home. They groom themselves meticulously, are quiet in the house, and have a mischievous, clever personality that keeps their owners entertained.
