About Lazarus
Click apply to start the adoption process. Lazarus is a dashing fellow with one of the more remarkable stories at Kearney Rescue Cats. After spending five harrowing days high in a tree without food or water, Lazarus defied the odds and survived. Despite all efforts, he wouldn’t come down on his own—until he decided to take a dramatic leap from nearly 25 feet up. After being rescued, he was found extremely dehydrated, thin, and scared, but thanks to veterinary care, specialized nutrition, and plenty of TLC, he made a full recovery. Now, Lazarus is fully health-checked, neutered, and vaccinated, ready to begin a new chapter as an indoor cat. He’s blossomed into a notably affectionate companion who adores attention and all the pets you can give, though he’s not yet comfortable being picked up. He’s estimated to be 2-3 years old and gets along well with other cats. While his experience with dogs is unknown, his resilience suggests he’s adaptable. To make him feel truly at home, a tall cat tree would be the perfect addition for this brave, playful spirit. Consider welcoming this handsome, loving cat into your family—the rest of his story could be with you! Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
