About Bandit
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Bandit is a tiny little outlaw with a heart of gold! At 8 years old and just 7 pounds, this small Chihuahua lives up to his name with his adorable little "mask" and curious, mischievous spark. The only thing he’s guilty of stealing is your lap and heart. Bandit and his friend Lola were surrendered together locally; while not bonded, they enjoy each other's company and could be adopted as a pair. This little explorer is equal parts cuddly companion and curious adventurer. Bandit loves to investigate, so a secure fenced yard and careful supervision are essential, as he’s been known to squeeze through fences on tiny expeditions. He’s potty pad trained but may need a little help adjusting to your house routine at first—using a belly band can make this transition easier. His intelligence and eagerness to learn shine through as he works to settle into his new rhythm. When he isn’t busy “patrolling” or exploring, Bandit becomes a snuggly, certified lap dog who adores curling up with you. He gets along well with other dogs and even cats, making him an easy fit for homes looking for a fun, affectionate addition. Bandit can also be alert and will let you know if something—or someone—is amiss outside, truly living up to his namesake! He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and prevention, and recently had a major dental procedure—he is down to just one tooth! Recent bloodwork is also on file, so you can be confident about his health. To ensure the best chances for successful placement, adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities, and all current pets in the home must be up to date on shots and prevention and be fixed. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only, as this rescue is not a shelter location. He is ready and waiting to be the loyal, loving, slightly mischievous sidekick who will brighten your days and warm your lap. Make Bandit's next great adventure a forever home with you. Adoption is the new adventure! Ready to roll?

Questions about Bandit
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chihuahuas are best suited for living environments where they can be close to their humans, such as apartments, small homes, or houses with secure yards. They thrive on companionship and feel most comfortable indoors.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahuas do not require a large amount of outdoor space, but they do enjoy safe, secure yards or short walks for exercise and enrichment. Because of their small size, always ensure that outdoor spaces are escape-proof.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahuas can do well with children, especially if the children are gentle and respectful of their small size. Supervision is important to ensure both the dog and children are safe and comfortable together.
