About Newt: Video!!
Newt is a brown tabby and white medium-haired cat currently living in foster care in Greensburg. He has been waiting for a home since April 2026. Newt’s story started on a scary note: after spending a night stranded in a tree and suffering a wound plus the early signs of frost bite, firefighters and a caring teacher came to his aid. After six weeks of diligent medical care, his injuries are fully healed, and he shows no signs of the trauma. Newt is on the shy side—he’s learned that people are safe, but he isn’t keen on being petted just yet. He prefers playtime, treats (big fan of Churus), and chasing dangly toys. With patience and gentle encouragement in a quiet environment, he’ll adjust at his own pace. If you have a confident cat, a slow introduction might help Newt feel braver and more social. He’s neutered, negative for Felv/FIV, up to date on FVRCP and rabies vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on flea prevention. Newt must stay indoors, and his adopter will need to sign an agreement against declawing. Ready for a patient adopter willing to let him set the pace, Newt is looking for a calm, understanding home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Questions about Newt: Video!!
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Domestic Medium Hair cats like Newt adapt well to indoor environments, especially those that are calm and offer places to hide and perch. He’ll thrive in a patient household that can provide gentle interactions and gradual introductions.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Newt, as a domestic medium hair cat, should remain indoors for safety and health. He doesn’t need outdoor space but will appreciate windows for bird-watching and plenty of room inside to explore.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Domestic medium hair cats can do well with gentle, older children. Because Newt is shy and still learning to trust, a home without small children—or with kids who respect his space—would be best.
