About Aj
Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Aj, a unique senior retriever/mixed breed who tips the scales at around 55 pounds and is an incredible 50% Chihuahua according to his genetic test! Aj is a dream on leash and loves to lounge beside you on the couch, although he’s just as happy relaxing on a dog bed or the floor. He’s picked up basic sign language commands and will charm you with his quirky favorite snacks, from popcorn to peanut butter and plain yogurt. Exceptionally well house trained, Aj lets you know he needs a potty break by gently poking you and making an adorable mooing sound. Baths aren’t his favorite, but he handles them with quiet tolerance. After some fresh air or a successful trip outside, Aj gets a burst of zoomies and might even play a quick game of tug before settling back to his usual calm and laid-back self. He’d thrive in a home that’s not too hectic—ideally adult-only, or with older children aged 13 and up. Give this sweet senior the relaxing home he deserves and make your next companion unforgettable. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
