About Akela

Akela is the sort of dog who makes you grateful for foster homes. Her personality has come out in all sorts of ways—she loves squeaky toys, pig ears, and bully sticks, and will happily settle in to watch TV and snuggle. True to her Husky side, she enjoys being part of a pack and would really thrive alongside another Husky or two. Car rides are her jam (though she's still figuring out how to hop in!), and she never says no to a walk or some new outdoor exploring. Food motivation runs strong here—depending on her mood, Akela will either pause to observe or let her nose lead the charge. Potty training is nearly there, but a few accidents do still happen. Kennel training is in progress, and she's working on curbing the habit of jumping up in excitement. Sudden movements can startle her, and she does deal with some separation anxiety, but covering her kennel with blankets helps her feel safe. Akela gets along well with dogs and would make a wonderful family addition, especially for households with other pups to help show her the ropes. Click apply to start the adoption process.
