Aj
AvailableAJ is a young, medium-sized male Boxer/Terrier mix with a gray, blue, and silver coat. At just over a year old, he is neutered and vaccinated, currently making progress on a healthy weight-gain journey in Wilmington, DE. AJ’s resilience shines through a tough start in life, and he now manages Irritable Bowel Disease with a specific diet, requiring attentive feeding. His affectionate and energetic personality make him a wonderful companion for the right family.
About Aj
Grab your tissues for AJ's story. Born safely in foster care after his pregnant mom was found abandoned, AJ has never known anything but love from the start. He faced down parvovirus as a tiny puppy, beating the odds with quick emergency care and sheer resilience. Adopted young, AJ was later returned to the shelter when chronic food sensitivities and an eventual diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) proved tough for his adopters to manage. Now on a specialized diet, AJ’s IBD is under control and he’s steadily gaining back lost weight while still being his bouncy, joyful self. AJ is a mix of energy and affection. He’s playful, sweet, and finds comfort in people—a gentle crouch or kind word is all he needs in uncertain moments. On walks, he stays close without pulling, making him easy to handle. He’s treat-motivated and eager to learn, so training is a breeze with him. Though he hasn’t fully played off-leash with other dogs, AJ has been around them and remains interested and friendly, showing promise for life with a canine buddy. This loving, resilient pup is looking for someone who can keep up with him and stick to his dietary needs. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
