Robert Joe is a smart, athletic dog who just needs someone willing to understand him. He can be shy and uncertain around new people, but once he bonds, he’s devoted to his person. He loves chasing after a ball, splashing around in water puddles, and won’t say no to a car ride. Loud or sudden noises still make him uneasy, so he does best with someone confident handling dogs who need a little extra patience. He gets on well with female dogs but doesn’t do great with males. He should not be in a home with cats. Keep in mind, Robert Joe will need a secure, 6-foot fence—he’s cautious but can be a bit of an escape artist. If left home alone, kenneling is best.
