Atticus is a large, short-haired male tabby living in Vernon, VT. He’s a neutered adult cat who is up to date on vaccinations, is house trained, and has successfully lived with both cats and dogs. Atticus needs a prescription urinary support diet to manage his health, but otherwise, he’s healthy and ready for a new home.

About Atticus See My Video!

Atticus, or Addie as some call him, is a striking gray tabby with a laid-back attitude, but he does need time to settle in and get comfortable with new faces. Once he trusts you, Atticus is all affection. He can spend hours chasing catnip toys, soaking up sunbeams, or staring out the window at birds and squirrels. He’s lived peacefully with both a friendly cat and a dog that respects boundaries, and even enjoyed playtime with a hound buddy. Atticus has a medical need: he must stay on a prescription urinary-support diet like Hills Science Diet C/D or Royal Canin SO, since male cats are prone to urine crystals and blockages—a serious health issue. Despite this, he’s in good shape overall (though he wouldn't mind dropping a pound or two), and he’s passionate about his food. He’ll gobble anything with gravy but turns his nose up at pate and isn’t impressed by chicken. He’s timid at first, frightened by sudden loud noises, and not comfortable around small kids or hectic households. Atticus does best with patient adopters in a calm, predictable setting. Give him that, and he’ll become a loyal, loving companion who just needs a bit of understanding and a good window perch. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
