Granger is available for adoption in Texas only. He’s a 54-pound, 4-and-a-half-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a sturdy frame and striking brindle and cream coat. Granger stands out for his wide-set, soulful eyes and his bulldog-like bow-legged walk. At first, he’s a little reserved around new people, but with a bit of patience, he opens up and becomes deeply loyal and affectionate. This guy loves hanging out with other dogs—he seeks out playtime and snuggle sessions with canine friends. He also really enjoys being around children and displays a gentle, easygoing attitude with kids. Granger is kennel and potty trained, so he knows how to respect boundaries indoors. Car rides made him nervous at first, but he’s come a long way and is much more comfortable with them now, showing real adaptability when faced with new experiences. During his time in rescue, vets discovered a fungal infection that affected his lungs and cervical spine. Granger has undergone a special vaccine regimen that stopped its progression; he’ll need an annual vaccine for this moving forward, but it hasn’t held him back—he continues to thrive and tackle life head-on.
