About Tango
Tango is a three-year-old mixed breed dog, likely with Carolina Dog and Husky in his lineage, who has developed a knack for winning over everyone he meets. At about 60 lbs, he strikes that sweet spot between active and calm—a mellow, affectionate presence that simply wants to be beside his people. He’s the sort of dog who shadows you from room to room and greets newcomers (kids and adults alike) with gentle curiosity and a wagging tail. He thrives on companionship, not demands. In his foster home, Tango has proven himself patient with children and polite with other dogs. Even with cats and kittens, he keeps things calm—just a quiet sniff, then moves on. Kids in his foster home gravitate to him naturally, and he handles the bustle of everyday life (school drop-offs, festivals, office trips) with grace. He plays in the yard, enjoys short walks, and settles in just as happily for downtime. He’s house trained, crate trained, and able to manage several hours alone when needed. Tango is still learning perfect leash manners but already knows basic commands like “sit” and takes well to patient direction. Past health problems—including hip surgery and a nasal repair—are fully behind him, and he’s now healthy with no lasting limitations. Households with very elderly people should note that he sometimes gets underfoot when following his favorite person. Tango is looking for a family that wants to include him in all aspects of daily life. He is being fostered in the South so is not currently available to meet in person. Your new best friend is just one click away.
