About Aloka
Click apply to start the adoption process. Aloka is a joyful, spirited young hound mix who's winning hearts wherever she goes. Inspired by her Zen master namesake "Aloka the peace dog," it's truly her sweet, peaceful nature that shines brightest. Though still a youngster—just about a year old—Aloka has already demonstrated impressive smarts and a willingness to learn. In only a week, she's gone from knowing nothing to being almost completely house trained! Aloka is respectful of cats, warmly interacts with children and dogs alike, and always aims to bring happiness to those around her. Traveling with her people is one of her favorite things, making her an ideal sidekick for adventures—whether it’s heading out for a meal, hiking, or swimming at the lake. While she's not fond of being crated, she does beautifully with baby gates and is happy to respect boundaries. For anyone in the DC/MD/NoVa area looking for an affectionate, inquisitive, and loyal companion, Aloka is ready and waiting for her happily ever after. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
