About Albus

Albus is a big, long-haired, orange-and-white Maine Coon mix with the personality of a Walmart greeter and the quirks of a dog stuck in a cat’s body. His early life was at a farmhouse, then all indoors, and he’s got chameleon social skills depending on who he’s living with. He navigates new cat company just fine, provided no one’s a total jerk; he’s even made peace with hyper types if they keep things breezy. Albus has a complicated relationship with change—stress knocks his digestive system out of whack and he’s been through rounds of IBD investigations, diet changes, and a string of homes. His GI troubles seem to vanish in low-stress, kid-free environments. He doesn’t like to be left completely alone for long stretches, and boredom or feeling ignored will lead to a little rebellion (think upturned plants or redecorated furniture). Currently, with his foster family in Fitchburg, MA, he’s thriving with zero bouts of stomach woes. He’s up early, expects his meals on time, and makes a habit of reminding his people when it’s time for food or play. This is a chatty, chirpy, highly interactive lap snuggler who will climb up himself, lounge in sunny windows, and chase toy mice like it’s his job. Not much of a hider, Albus likes to sprawl where he can keep an eye on everyone. He’s polite with nail trims, enjoys being brushed daily, and relishes both human attention and a good round of “cat TV.” Albus gets along with most cats and even dogs, but he’s better off without children. He needs someone who’s home a lot—retired, remote worker, or someone with a predictable routine. Expect a high-maintenance companion who’s playful, affectionate, and vocal, but in return you’ll have a loyal shadow with an enormous heart. Click apply to start the adoption process.
