About Baxter
Baxter is a tiny senior Chihuahua with a big personality who entered rescue after his people of 11 years moved overseas. He weighs in at just 4.5 pounds but doesn’t let his small size or lack of teeth hold him back—he’ll let you know when you've crossed the line, but it’s all harmless gumming, a growl, and some good slobber. Baxter finds his rhythm in quiet routines, prefers calm environments, and values his independence. He explores the yard, basks in the sun, and sleeps in his bed in a pen. He’s house trained and belly bands have helped curb marking. Walks or stroller rides both suit him. Baxter is good with other dogs (including puppies) and does just fine around cats. With new people, he takes his time warming up—the 'spicy' side comes out, but there’s no bite behind the warning, just a gummy show. Baxter would thrive with someone who enjoys a lively little character and has patience for an older dog set in his ways. Fluffy beds, good food, and a peaceful spot are all he really needs. Give him that, and he’ll be perfectly happy. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
