Hot and humid conditions with heat indices often exceeding 100°F make summer challenging for outdoor pet activities. Limit exercise to early morning or late evening, and always carry water. The Gateway Arch grounds and Forest Park offer shaded areas, but avoid prolonged sun exposure.

Sep – Nov

Cooling temperatures and lower humidity make fall the most pleasant season for pet activities. Forest Park is beautiful in autumn with comfortable walking conditions. Early fall can still be warm, so continue monitoring heat through September before fully transitioning to cool-weather routines.
