About Roo
Roo is only adoptable in Los Angeles but is currently being cared for in St. Petersburg, FL. At just 13 weeks old, Roo is a Chihuahua mix who started her life on the streets with her sister Maple in Kern County. Both pups came dangerously close to not making it out of the shelter but were rescued from the euthanasia list just in time. Roo was born with a congenital condition in her front elbows—she can’t fully extend her front legs, so she gets around by hopping on her forearms. The rescue is still evaluating the best long-term approach for her, which could be surgery or letting her adapt as she is. Despite this, Roo is a happy little dog who lights up around people and loves cuddling. She warms up to everyone, enjoys being around other dogs, cats, and children, and is looking for an adopter who sees her for her loving nature rather than her limitations. Give Roo a chance to be part of your family. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
