About Bella

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Bella was adopted as a puppy from CPR in 2022 under our spay/neuter exemption policy, which required adopters to sign a contract agreeing to have her altered at the veterinarian-recommended age; that agreement was not fulfilled. In April 2026, she was surrendered to a local shelter, which then contacted CPR to take her back. It was reported that Bella had a litter of puppies in July 2025 and was not spayed until after she developed medical complications related to remaining unaltered-an entirely preventable outcome given the safeguards and contractual obligations in place at the time of her adoption. From the foster: Meet Bella your new sidekick. We have had Bella in our home for a week now and she is so much fun. She loves going on walks and does well on a leash. She does pull and bark at the dogs she sees in backyards so you have to pull her away. Bella does great in the house unsupervised and has not chewed on anything. We have not put her in a kennnel but her previous foster said she did well in one. She really likes her toys and will chew on them. Bella loves to play the resident dog in the house, but she does go a to far sometimes and we have to tell her to settle. She just gets overly excited. She would do well in a home that is active but will also stay right by your side wherever you are. I find her at my feet and on the floor next to me when I am sitting. Come meet Bella this Saturday and give this sweet girl a furever home Meet Bella - your new built-in best friend and adventure buddy! In just a week, Bella has already made herself right at home and shown what a fun, loving companion she is. She absolutely loves going on walks and does well on a leash, though she can get a little excited and may pull or bark at dogs in nearby yards. With a bit of guidance, she's learning to stay focused and keep moving. Bella has great house manners and can be trusted unsupervised - no chewing on things she shouldn't! She enjoys her toys and happily keeps herself entertained. While we haven't used a kennel with her, her previous foster shared that she does well in one. She's a playful girl who loves interacting with other dogs, though sometimes her excitement gets the best of her and she needs a gentle reminder to settle down. Bella would thrive in an active home that can match her energy and continue guiding her, but she's just as happy being close to her people. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or moving around the house, you'll likely find her right at your feet, soaking up your company. Bella is ready to be your loyal sidekick through it all - walks, playtime, and quiet moments alike. Come meet Bella this Saturday and see if she's the perfect fit for your forever home! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
