Meet Comet, a 2.5-year-old golden boy with the sweetest face, the cutest little cropped tail, and a personality that lights up every room he enters. We believe Comet is a Pittie/Spaniel mix (though your guess is as good as ours!), and at around 50 pounds, he is pure joy wrapped up in sunshine. Comet and his four canine siblings lost the only home they had ever known after their owner unexpectedly passed away while on vacation. Their devoted sitters worked tirelessly to advocate for the dogs and help get them into rescues. We welcomed Comet and his sister, Star—the two that no one else stepped forward for—and honestly, we’re still baffled as to why. Comet is one of those dogs who instantly wins people over. He adores humans, loves other dogs, and greets the world with constant smiles and happy little tail wags. His spirit is contagious, and he has such a warm, easygoing demeanor that makes him an incredible companion. He’s also wonderfully well-mannered. Comet is fully potty trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has excellent house manners. He loves car rides, long walks, couch cuddles, tummy scratches, and playing fetch. He’s also quite proud of his tricks and loves showing off commands like “sit,” “down,” and “belly.” He would happily share his home with another dog, though it’s not required for his adoption. Like any guy, Comet has a few opinions too—he could definitely do without bath time, the vacuum cleaner, and he’s not particularly interested in feline companionship. Comet is fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He does wonderfully with both kids and adults and is truly a fantastic fit for many different kinds of homes. Comet is currently located in DFW, Texas, but can be transported out of state for adoption. After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet-and-greet and begin the foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions include a minimum two-week foster-to-adopt period to ensure the perfect fit for both the dog and the family. Comet’s adoption fee is $250 and would be due after the foster-to-adopt period.
