About Amara
Amara is a smart, resourceful hound/lab mix with a sleek cream coat and distinctive brindle mask. She was rescued with her friend Mila under difficult circumstances, but after dedicated care and healthy meals, she’s made a strong recovery. Amara has grown into a friendly, surprisingly gentle adult who enjoys quiet moments and takes everything in stride. She warms up quickly to people, especially if you have a treat handy, and she genuinely thrives on leash walks and outdoor games. At the sanctuary, she’s shown she can handle different environments, even napping in a busy office between waves of activity. While she loves her playtime, Amara settles down into a thoughtful, calm presence when on her own. The ideal home for her has patient, kind people, a fenced yard for exploring, and a consistent routine. She’s unfazed by the bustle around her, and has a reputation as that rare dog who’s just as content snoozing as she is joining a game of tug. Amara gets along with children and is still looking for her first real home—a place where her past won’t follow her and she can simply be a loved pet. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
