Still beaming with a puppy spirit, Roy is a happy-go-lucky, large Foxhound/Hound mix who simply loves life. If you’re searching for a loyal couch companion, Roy is your guy—he’ll nudge his way in for cuddles and will even hold your hand while snuggling. Keep an eye on your toilet paper though; Roy’s playful side sometimes gets the better of him! His love for food makes him especially eager to learn and train, and he’s been known to happily help tidy up after the kids. Roy is wonderfully quiet, travels like a dream in the car, and walks beautifully on leash without pulling. He’s crate-trained and finds comfort in his kennel, whether it’s for a peaceful nap or to keep the household toilet paper safe. While he enjoys a stuffed toy or bone, his overall demeanor is laid-back and easygoing. Roy does great with both cats and calm dogs, making him an excellent fit for many homes. Recently, he was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, which is handled well via daily medication, and his gentle nature remains unchanged.
