Ahmos arrived in the US from Cairo in mid-May 2024. He's estimated to be around 8 to 10 years old and currently weighs about 11 pounds. Life on the street in Egypt was rough on him—he had severe dental issues from years of poor nutrition and lack of care. After arriving, he received extensive dental treatment, including the removal of most of his teeth, and has bounced back well. He’s also been treated for ear mites and is up to date on all his vaccines. Despite his rocky start, Ahmos is slowly learning to trust people again. He tends to keep his distance from other cats and dogs, and generally prefers quieter company. His new person will need a gentle touch and plenty of patience to help him feel safe and loved.
