Meet Spud — the blocky-headed sweetheart with a story that will make you smile. Spud was found roaming the streets of Boonville after a concerned (and slightly overwhelmed!) citizen called about a loose pit bull who had unintentionally “taken over” their front yard. But when our team arrived, the tough guy reputation disappeared instantly — Spud trotted right up, tail wagging, happily accepting treats and attention like he’d known us forever. From that moment on, it was clear: Spud isn’t scary… he’s a total lovebug. He hopped right into the car and enjoyed the ride like a seasoned road trip buddy. Since arriving at the shelter, Spud has shown us just how fun and affectionate he is. He loves to run and romp in the yard, toss toys around, and soak up all the attention he can get. He’s just as happy hanging out in the office as he is playing outside — as long as he’s near people, he’s content. Spud is the kind of dog who will greet you with a wagging tail, stick by your side, and remind you every day what unconditional love looks like. All he’s missing now is a home to call his own.
