Sakura
AvailableSakura is a beautiful adult Siberian Husky with a long black and white/cream coat, living in Scottsdale, AZ. At 5 years and 3 months old, she’s a spayed female who is house trained and up to date on her vaccinations. Sakura’s personality shines brightest as the only pet in a loving home.
About Sakura
Sakura’s name means “cherry blossom” in Japanese, and the fit is uncanny. She’s striking and graceful, and definitely has a presence. Sakura came from the county shelter after narrowly escaping euthanasia due to multiple returns, which we chalked up to her not having the right environment or support. She finally had the chance to decompress in a foster home, revealing a well-mannered, smart, and low-maintenance side. Sakura thrived on routine, enjoyed fetch, and settled in beside her people, content just to be near. Her foster described her as both sweet and funny, with no destructive habits indoors and an easy relationship with her kennel—sometimes even choosing it voluntarily. But Sakura has made it clear she prefers to be the only animal in the house. While she ignored a large male dog, she clashed with the household’s other female, and records suggest she’s not keen on cohabitating with most dogs. Her prey drive rules out homes with cats or small pets. What she truly bonds with is people—she did great with kids in her foster home (so long as she was the only pet) and thrives in either calm or bustling environments, as long as she’s not alone. This girl would love to spend her days soaking up all the attention, curled up next to a favorite person. Like her namesake, Sakura is just waiting to flourish in a new home where she can finally settle in. Ready to meet this joyful, resilient husky? Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Sakura
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Siberian Huskies like Sakura do best in homes with space to play and people around, as they are social and thrive on companionship. She would be happiest with owners who include her in daily life and give her plenty of time and attention.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A dog like Sakura benefits from regular access to a yard or safe outdoor area, though daily walks and play sessions are just as important. A secure, fenced yard is a bonus but not a substitute for quality time and activity.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Siberian Huskies are generally good with children, and Sakura has shown she gets along with kids, provided she is the only pet in the home. Families with respectful children will find her affectionate and gentle.
