About Zara
Zara’s journey feels like it belongs on the big screen—abandoned in the snow as a tiny, paralyzed kitten, her fate veered the moment she was rescued. She’s only 5 months old, but she’s already met challenges that would test any animal’s spirit. An old spinal fracture left her paralyzed from mid-back down, yet that’s just a footnote in her story. Since arriving, Zara has transformed from a frail, exhausted kitten into a determined survivor. She’s grown strong enough to scoot around using her front legs and is tackling physical therapy (plus getting used to a wheelchair for extra mobility). Life hasn’t dulled her affection: she’s happiest curled up next to you, just glad for company. Zara thrives on connection and looks for gentle reassurance from her people. Day-to-day, caring for Zara requires a bit more dedication—she needs her bladder expressed twice a day and benefits from hands-on support and encouragement, but she handles it all quietly and patiently. What she needs most is a special person ready to match her perseverance, who’ll help her keep making progress and see beyond her limitations. Zara isn’t just surviving; she’s intent on making the most of every moment, and she’ll remind you how much perseverance and kindness can change the course of a life. Her birthday falls under Scorpio, so it’s no surprise she’s packed with grit and loyalty. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
