About Ambar
Ambar’s amber coat earned her name, and her personality matches its warmth. She’s a large, adult Shepherd/Mountain Cur mix who thrives as a house dog and adores human attention—kids included. Her favorite things are neighborhood walks and relaxing at home, and she does well in a foster home with a little patio where she can watch the world go by. Ambar is playful with her foster friend Pip, and while she coexists peacefully with other dogs in the home (including seniors of different sizes), she’s more interested in people than making new dog friends. She’s not the type for busy dog parks or beach outings, but she enjoys normal strolls and the occasional adventure. Ambar is best suited for adopters who don’t already have dogs, unless you’re considering her friend Pip, in which case they make a great pair (with a waived fee for the second dog). She is respectful in the home, not dog-aggressive, but prefers to keep her distance from unfamiliar dogs on walks. Cats haven’t been tested, but a meeting can be arranged. She rides well in the car and is both house and crate trained. Ambar loves people, playtime in the yard, and will make an easygoing, warm-hearted addition to a family or anyone seeking loyal companionship. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
