Jinshi is a two-year-old black and white domestic short hair cat who had a challenging start in life, surviving in a large colony of feral cats. After months of patience from his foster parents, Jinshi finally decided he was ready to embark on the journey to adoption. Jinshi is a gentle, smaller male cat with a big personality and plenty to say. He’s exceptionally chatty and playful, with favorite toys like an automatic cat wand and a crinkly stuffed fish. Although still shy with new people, Jinshi grows more comfortable when treated gently and by those attuned to cat body language. He appreciates respect for his boundaries and may swat or nibble when overstimulated, so patience is key. Once trust is earned, Jinshi becomes a loving companion who delights in lap time and prefers always to be touching his person. This affectionate feline loves forehead kisses and nose-to-nose boops, and he’ll cleverly seek attention when he wants it. Jinshi is known to answer to his name as well as “shi-shi” and is highly food motivated, which helps him build trust through treats. Jinshi is afraid of dogs and children due to his background, so he needs a calm, predictable home without them. He does well with other playful cats, especially those who enjoy a bit of wrestling and youthful antics. While he’s full of energy and loves to romp with his foster siblings, Jinshi is ultimately looking for an indoor-only life where he can thrive in a routine and loving environment.
