About Amber

Amber is a striking orange cat with unusual Abyssinian-like coloring. She’s slim, muscular, and has an especially long tail, with eyes that draw you in. Her background is a bit of a mystery, but she was discovered caring for two kittens—despite already being spayed and ear-tipped, likely after time as a community cat. Now safe in foster care, both she and her kittens have thrived. Amber is confident and has a good dollop of classic "catitude." She can get overstimulated when being petted, sometimes nipping at hands or ankles if playtime or attention isn’t on her terms. Her foster family is helping her learn boundaries, but Amber does need an experienced adopter who understands cats with a spicy streak. She likes to be petted and held and loves chasing catnip balls. Though she gets stressed in new situations, she recovers quickly. Amber would probably be happiest as the only cat, but with a very slow, careful introduction, she might accept another feline companion. A quieter home—no young kids, but gentle older children are okay—would be best. Amber is about two years old, spayed, current on vaccines, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
